Internal cable problem - see photo

Can someone help with the attached picture of my front derailleur cable as it comes out of the down tube and under the BB? It looks like the cable casing has become bunched up for some reason. Shifts fine. GRX. Canyon AL gravel frame.

Thanks.

it’s just the teflon protective liner used to ease up the process of cable routing and to help to keep the cable clean for a longer time. wouldn’t care much if it shifts fine and smooth. if not, cut the liner at the existing point of the blue bracket and have it replaced by the next gear cable change. as you can see on the rear derailleur cable it’s not necessary.

Thanks.

If you are in Australia I can send you a length of the teflon tube to use as a replacement, I have a 100 metre roll of it.

Perhaps you can get the liner back up? F.i. by prolonging the inner cable at the end and then pulling it from the top? But you will need to fixate it afterwards as it seems to get pulled down with every shift to the small ring.

I do not. I live in California. But I appreciate the offer. Thanks.

Would it not cause cancer in California? :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:
